What are Pixie Stools?
If you’re a pixie, a small mythical creature found in British fairy tales, these Pixie Stools are a great way to kick back with friends. For the rest of us, Pixie Stools are great display stands for small plants, candles, or salt and pepper shakers.
The idea
In late 2023 a heavy snow fell over parts of Massachusetts that brought down trees and branches across the area, including an apple, maple, and lilac tree in my back yard. Rather than burn the wood or send it to a landfill, I sliced the logs, stabilized the cracks as they dried, and attached legs made from the smaller lilac and maple branches. The pixies that inhabit my yard have never lacked a place to sit since.
